A new Macmillan Horizon Centre will be opening in Sussex in summer 2016 thanks to your generosity and support.
Reason Global raised over £5000 in 2015 in support of the Macmillan Horizon centre. Designed with input from people affected by cancer it aims to be the best place to offer the support and services for those in Sussex who need it most. The centre will offer all round support from a team of specialists in a calm, friendly and welcoming environment. Volunteers will also play a vital role.
The centre will provide a number of unique services including: Service Users Groups, Information and support, Welfare benefits advice and questions about money, Counselling and psychological therapies, Complementary therapies, Physical activity, Hair, skin, nail and body advice, Practical and buddy support, Dietary advice, Self help and support groups and transport.
James Bacharew, Sussex Fundraising Manager for Macmillan says: “We have around 75,000 people living with cancer in Sussex and these numbers continue to grow, with a further 25 people newly diagnosed with cancer every day. This service will be a lifeline for thousands of people, providing information and support at a time when they need it most.”
“We believe that no one should face cancer alone and this service is another step towards making that dream a reality. The Horizon Centre is a service that we should all be extremely proud of and will set the standard for the way we support people living with and affected by cancer as a nation. I would like to say a huge thank you to all of you at Reason Global for choosing to support our work; we couldn’t do what we do without you.”
