Reason Global was honoured to be the primary sponsor of the British Association of Removers’ annual conference in Glasgow in May.
The BAR conference is always an excellent opportunity for us to catch up with our existing removals clients and build new connections. Representing Reason Global this year were Roger Midgley, Andrew Smith, Jack Benton and Jacob Dolan, who all made the pilgrimage to Glasgow on board the express train to Scotland. Unfortunately, their journey hit a snag when their train was cancelled due to a blockage on the line, forcing them to make an unexpected stop in Preston. To top it off, while they waited for the next train, they got caught in a downpour, and poor Andy had to seek refuge in a phone box!
When they reached Glasgow, the weary travellers were joined by Reason Global Directors Malcolm Pearson and Daniel Reynolds, who’d enjoyed a relatively short hop from the FIDI Conference in Edinburgh! Fortunately, the sun shone, setting the stage for three exciting days of thought-provoking industry talks, fantastic networking opportunities, and enjoyable social activities.
It turned out that Andy was a natural at Go-Karting, while Andy, Jacob and Jack were delighted to be part of the winning laser tag team. And, despite the jam-packed schedule of business meetings and sessions, they always managed to make their way back to Kitty O’Sheas for some lively music and hospitality to cap off each day!
On the final day of the conference, everybody donned their glad rags for a great evening of good food, fine wine and entertainment at the Gala Dinner. They even managed to grab a quick selfie with celebrity host Patrick Kielty before he went on stage to present the prestigious BAR Mover of the Year Awards. Congratulations to Richard Healey Removals Ltd, who clinched the well-deserved title of Domestic Mover of the Year in the very city where they first established their business back in 1965!
For Jacob, it was his first time attending the conference, and it couldn’t have been a better introduction: “I was expecting a great few days and it didn’t disappoint! The conference was packed with insightful sessions, fantastic networking opportunities, and a chance to meet some brilliant people, who were generous with their thoughts, time and drinks. I’m looking forward to more events like this and continuing to build strong connections in our industry.”
